The effect of inflation in Kosovo - 100 euros from 2019 are worth only 78 euros today

Inflation is eroding purchasing power in Kosovo: 100 euros in 2019 are worth only 78 euros today. This is how economists describe the country's economic reality in recent years.
According to them, although the nominal value of money remains the same, what changes is the real value, that is, how many goods and services can be purchased with the same amount of money.
The analysis shows that inflation has had a strong impact on purchasing power in Kosovo, especially over the last 3–4 years.
In 2014, 100 euros in 2019 would have had a real value of around 105 euros, implying a lower price level and higher purchasing power. Meanwhile, in 2025, the same amount, 100 euros in 2019, is worth only around 78 euros in real terms.
This means that what was purchased for 100 euros in 2019 will cost approximately 128 euros in 2025. According to experts, this significant decline in the real value of money is clear evidence that inflation has significantly eroded the standard of living and purchasing power of citizens in Kosovo.
The analysis highlights that, although nominal wages or incomes may appear unchanged or increasing, the economic reality for Kosovar families is more difficult, as their money today buys significantly less than it did a few years ago.
