Over 52,000 farmers across the country will receive cash in order to cover expenses for the oil they use in agriculture.

According to data from the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, for the year 2024, a total of 54,255 farmers have applied for oil support for mechanized agricultural work.

In the first phase, 23,190 of them, or nearly half of the farmers who requested support, were selected.

Meanwhile, in the final list recently published by AZHBR, it appears that there are 52,183 applicants in total.

The Ministry of Agriculture has stated that the fund of 12 million euros for this purpose will be divided proportionally among the applicants who meet the necessary criteria.

The detailed data show that the Fier district, where agriculture is more developed, is the one that leads in terms of the number of applicants and beneficiaries, followed by the Districts of Korça, Berat, Shkodra, Elbasan and Vlora.

The benefit for the cultivated area varies: up to 100% of the value, for farmers/applicants with an area of up to 10 hectares. As for the area over 10 hectares, the amount of benefit is reduced by 50%, excluding the cases of applicants with "group of farmers" or "SHBB" status.

All beneficiaries on the list are included in the 50% measure.

The oil support scheme this year has changed and will not be done through cards as in previous years, but with money which will be transferred to farmers' accounts.

The Ministry of Agriculture has stated that it is working to reach an agreement with commercial banks to enable accounts with reduced costs for those farmers who are beneficiaries of oil.
