AMA President in the US, focus on media and disinformation - “Policy contributors for information integrity and media freedom”
The President of the Albanian Association of Medical Students, Armela Krasniqi, has conducted a two-day visit to the United States of America, where she was hosted at the State Department.
The focus of the meetings was on the transparency of media ownership, the transposition of European acts into Albanian legislation, and legal initiatives for regulating the media market.
During the discussions, Krasniqi presented AMA's initiatives to date for regulating video distribution platforms, as well as the challenges related to disinformation, hate speech, and information integrity in Albania.
"This visit serves our institution, which is no longer just a beneficiary, but also a contributor to policies related to the integrity of information and media freedom ," Krasniqi said after this visit.
In Washington, Krasniqi also made a stop at John Hopkins University, where the challenges of the media market and the impact of technology were discussed, sharing the AMA's experience in regulating the audiovisual market and adapting to digital developments.
