Costs for enterprises eased - Support for business after the minimum wage

The National Employment and Skills Agency announces that the government has launched a support scheme for businesses, which aims to alleviate the financial costs resulting from the increase in the minimum wage in the country. Through this initiative, businesses will benefit from financial compensation for social security and health insurance contributions for their employees.

According to the scheme, the compensation period includes the months from January to September 2026. This measure has been taken to support enterprises in coping with increased financial obligations, while simultaneously guaranteeing stability in the labor market.

Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of this scheme are businesses that have employees with salaries in the range of 40,000 to 49,999 lekë, based on the salary level declared in September 2025. For these employees, the state will cover part of the contributions for the contribution periods from January to September 2026.

The National Employment and Skills Agency announces that the application process will be carried out entirely online, through the e-Albania portal. Interested businesses should apply through the dedicated service "Request for financial compensation of social and health insurance contributions".

Meanwhile, the full list of beneficiary businesses has been published on the official website puna.gov.al, where entities can verify if they are part of the support scheme, enabling transparency and full access.

This initiative is part of the policy package aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and formalizing the labor market, while cushioning the effects of the minimum wage increase on the economy.
