Are negotiations slowing down? - Rama: Idea created by the media: "Young

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with young people regarding the negotiation process for Albania's integration.

In his speech, the head of government rejected claims of a slowdown in progress.

"I believe that the prosecutor has created this idea of slowing down from media outlets, which unfortunately are generally very suspicious of what they say, write and speak. Because the world has become so fast and the time of information so rhythmic, and the desire to get attention has become so frenetic that there is neither time nor interest in verifying the things that are written and said. But, just throw it away just to get attention, because even outlets are in competition with each other. These are things that greatly paralyze the quality of information.

We are at a moment where, for the first time in history, luck is smiling on Albanians and Albania. Currently, we are not in conditions where there is a slowdown. We have been proposed to open negotiations and have been rejected three times. The commission proposed to us because we have done everything forced. Why were we rejected? Because a member state was not happening to us. There was nothing with Albania, but there was a problem created with Albanians... politics", said Rama.

Further, the Prime Minister encouraged young people, saying that with Albania's membership they will be treated the same as their European peers.

"You do not have the same conditions as European students and despite the fact that you may be very talented, if you enroll in school, you pay much more than European students because you are foreign. With EU membership, this changes completely. You are a local like here in Tirana, like in an auditorium in Lisbon or Warsaw, like in a university in one of the cities of Albania or in any of the cities of Europe. You do not pay more, you do not have any more difficulties in accessing services and you are not a foreigner when it comes to the labor market and you can choose a job no longer simply within the borders of Tirana, Albania or a city where you may know someone, but you can look for a job in any city in Europe. No one sees you and tells you where you are from that here is the EU. This is an effort that has meaning and a direct impact for each of you. It is not about a formal overcoming, but about a fundamental change in the position and relations between the country and the Albanian people and other European peoples", said Rama.

Meanwhile, Chief Negotiator Majllinda Dhuka proposed to the youth the signing of a social contract, so that they too can contribute to this process, while Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha said that the youth are the beneficiaries and should also be contributors.
