In Albania, a series of investments are being made in the country's road infrastructure, as the budget for 2025 is expected to allocate a significant amount to this sector as well. Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, while explaining the budget to the Commission for Production Activities, Trade and Environment, gave details on the infrastructural projects in the country and the deadlines for their completion.
"For the year 2026, in other projects we have the expansion of the Tirana-Durrës highway, that is the third phase, and meanwhile the reconstruction of the old Kombinat-Ndroq-Plepa road, which are lots 2 and 3. For the year 2027, the Tirana-Durrës highway continues , with phases 4 and 5, the Traffic Monitoring Center in 2027 moves into its third phase, thus adding more monitorable kilometers. While we have the fourth and final lot of the reconstruction of the Kombinat-Ndroq-Plepa road."
Deputy Prime Minister Balluku also stopped at the joint project with the World Bank for the rehabilitation of bridges in Albania.
"We have more than 660 bridges that are spread throughout the territory. We, with the support of the World Bank, have started a project, which is called the bridge project, and during this budget, we will have the opportunity to start with the rehabilitation and expansion of these bridges, which are the Beshir bridge, the Viroi bridge and the Vjosa bridge. .”
The Murriz Tunnel and the Great Ring of Tirana are two of the projects that are expected to be completed by December 31 of this year. The Llogara tunnel was closed yesterday to carry out some improvements to road signage and is expected to reopen before next year's summer season.
