Where are more businesses opening? - From 6039 in Tirana, to only 78 in Kukës. Map of new ventures

There are over 11,000 new businesses registered in Albania during the first six months of the year, but the entrepreneurship map shows a strong concentration in just a few regions.
Tirana is undoubtedly the main center of new economic activity. In the capital alone, from January to June, 6 thousand 39 businesses were opened, which makes up 52.2% of the total. So, more than half of the new businesses in the country were registered in Tirana.
After the capital, Vlora ranks second, with 1,347 new businesses, or 11.6% of the total, while Durrës counts 1,310 businesses, accounting for 11.3%. These figures show that new entrepreneurial activity is mainly concentrated in areas with higher population, economic activity and tourism.
In other regions, the rates are significantly lower. Fier has registered 600 new businesses, or 5.2%, while Lezha 489, accounting for 4.2% of the total. Elbasan and Shkodra have almost the same level, with 452 and 447 new businesses, respectively, or 3.9% each.
Korça has 329 businesses, which makes up 2.8% of the total, while Berat has 225, or 1.9%. At the bottom of the ranking are the regions with a much smaller share in business openings.
Gjirokastra has registered 136 new businesses, Dibra 115, while Kukës only 78, or 0.7% of the total. If the figures are seen as a whole, it turns out that new businesses are not evenly distributed across the territory. Tirana, Vlora and Durrës together represent about three quarters of all new businesses opened in six months. This puts one of the challenges of the Albanian economy in focus again: the growth of entrepreneurship, but also its concentration in a few centers of the country.
While the capital and tourist areas continue to attract the bulk of new activity, other regions remain with a much smaller weight on the entrepreneurship map.
