CEC verifies incidents in Cerrik and Vlora/Celibashi: Young people are showing a

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, issued a statement to the media explaining the progress of election day. He said that so far only two problems have been reported, one in Vlora and one in Cërrik, which are being verified by the CEC.

"Two issues have been reported: one in Cërrik, regarding the behavior of an observer, which is being verified to see who the voter was voting for. While in Vlora, there was a debate between the head of the Voting Center and the operator regarding identification procedures. The CEC is verifying the behavior of each of these two officials," said Celibashi.

On the other hand, the Chief Commissioner also highlighted the low level of youth participation in voting, emphasizing the need for greater awareness and engagement of this age group.

"It is a widespread trend in other countries that young people do not have much interest in getting involved in political processes, and it seems that Albania is no exception. We have done a lot to encourage their participation, but it is necessary for political parties and civil society organizations to work harder to make young people more interested," Celibashi declared.

Meanwhile, the turnout in the 5 municipalities at 4:00 PM is 16.61%.
