Korea leads car imports in Albania - DPSHTRR: The vehicle market is growing and diversifying

The General Directorate of Road Transport Services has published data on vehicle registrations for the period January-November 2025. The Albanian vehicle market is attracting products from some of the largest and most developed countries in the automotive industry.
The origin of imported vehicles is led by the Republic of Korea with 21.4%, which continues to hold the largest share in the market, reflecting the increased demand for Korean brands, known for their modern technology and efficiency in consumption. Next comes Germany with 15.6%, as German products remain among the most sought-after, thanks to their reputation for quality and long-term durability.
There is also a significant increase in the presence of vehicles originating from Italy, which accounts for 15.4% of vehicle imports. Similarly, Chinese vehicles are gaining ground, reflecting their increased competitiveness in the global market of 9.1%.
On the other hand, Switzerland is represented by 8.4%. American vehicles continue to have their presence of 8%.
The diversification of vehicle origins indicates an approach by citizens towards new, more modern and more efficient options.
The numerous inflows from various international markets are a positive indicator of the dynamism of the sector and the new mobility standards in the country. These data confirm a growing market, which is reflecting the choices and preferences of Albanian consumers.
Meanwhile, the DPSHTRR instructs all drivers to respect road traffic rules, to carry out periodic checks of the vehicle they own and, before importing a vehicle, to carry out the "Environmental Category Verification".
