Ibrahimaj: Commitment to the new phase of inspectorate reform and increased transparency

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, together with Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Chief Inspector General, Dashnor Sula, held a meeting with the heads of the country's inspectorates to discuss the latest steps in the reform of the inspection system, which has entered an in-depth phase of consolidation and implementation.
At this meeting, the progress achieved so far in the implementation of the reform, which aims to modernize and improve the efficiency of the inspection system in Albania, was highlighted.
Minister Ibrahimaj emphasized the need for a more structured, risk-based inspection system that will provide support to businesses so that they can self-correct and fulfill legal obligations without feeling threatened by frequent and unreasonable inspections.
"Reform in the inspection system is a priority of the government, and we are placing special emphasis on strengthening the capacities of inspectors and increasing transparency in the way inspections are carried out. Our goal is to complete this process within 2026, guaranteeing an inspection system that is efficient, transparent and straightforward, and that supports business development and fair competition," emphasized Minister Ibrahimaj.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his speech, emphasized the importance of building a strong and reliable public administration, which will enable a stable environment for entrepreneurship and will contribute to the protection of the public interest.
He underlined that the reform will be completed by 2026 and will bring a profound transformation of the inspection system, making it more coordinated and better prepared to help businesses develop.
"This reform is an important step to ensure an inspection system that supports business development and improves public administration standards. We are committed to ensuring that inspections are based on risk analysis and to minimizing opportunities for abuse. This is an important process that requires full commitment from all stakeholders and I am convinced that we will be able to successfully conclude it," declared Prime Minister Rama.
Part of this meeting was also a discussion on the possibilities for digitalizing the inspection system, which will enable more accurate and efficient monitoring of processes and increase the transparency of inspection procedures. Through this system, businesses will be able to have a clearer and simpler approach to managing inspection processes and ensuring compliance with legal obligations.
The inspectorate reform aims to restructure and strengthen institutions such as the General Inspectorate, and create a coordinated system that will ensure compliance with the law and improve the business climate.
Another important element of the reform is the review of inspection procedures, with the aim of making them more structured and based on risk analysis, to avoid unnecessary and repeated inspections that could cause unnecessary burdens for businesses.
Minister Ibrahimaj expressed her belief that the reform is on the right track and that, with support from all stakeholders, the inspection system in Albania will move into a new phase, which will contribute to the development of a more stable economy and a stronger and more reliable administration.
