Call for Work-Based Learning program opens - Subsidies, opportunities for youth and businesses
The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, through a post on social networks, calls on young people and employers to become part of the Workplace Learning program, which is a new program of the National Employment and Skills Agency. The program is considered a bridge that connects young people to the labor market and helps businesses find new talents.
Meanwhile, this program comes to the aid of young people aged 15-29 who are not in education, employment or training and who are looking for an opportunity to build their professional journey.
But how does this program work?
The program offers young people training and professional practice at a business, for a period of 3 to 6 months, as well as a participation fee of 80% of the minimum wage in the first half of the duration and 100% in the remaining part. This program offers a subsidy for transportation costs, guaranteed employment for 6 months after the training.
Meanwhile, for the employer, the Workplace Learning program offers a subsidy for the instructor, as well as reimbursement of social and health insurance for participants during the employment period.
On the other hand, the work-based learning program, under the Youth Guarantee scheme, will be implemented in 3 cities: Tirana, Shkodra and Vlora. Employers have the right to submit an application for the inclusion of, at a minimum, a group of up to 5 unemployed job seekers, depending on infrastructural and human capacities and job vacancies.
Likewise, to obtain the status of unemployed job seeker, citizens must be available for work and must report to the Labor Office, as well as meet the criteria set out by law for registration as an unemployed job seeker.
All interested individuals can apply through the e-Albania portal.
