Business Forum: Foreign investments from the United Emirates in Albania, with significant growth
With an increase in Arab investments in Albania, and a positive trend of trade exchanges with the United Arab Emirates, our country is becoming more and more attractive. During a Business Forum between Albania and the United Emirates, organized by AIDA, the exploration of new sectors to invest in Albania was discussed.
"Commercial exchanges between the two countries have followed a positive trend, as well as foreign investments from the United Emirates in Albania. We see Albania as a country with potential where we should aim to increase cooperation between the two countries", said the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates.
During the forum, the Executive Director of AIDA, Laura Plaku, brought a clearer panorama of Albania to the Arab investors who were present at the Forum.
"Albania has recognized an upward trend of economic development. Construction, tourism or energy are among the sectors to which our country is giving due attention. Until September, Albania welcomed around 9.7 million tourists, turning it into an attractive sector for foreign investments", said the Executive Director of AIDA.
According to data from INSTAT, trade exchanges between the two countries have had positive progress, where during the past year, trade volumes reached 43 million euros, while foreign investments in the first half of the year reached 52 million euros.
