In response to SCAN TV's question regarding the revaluation process, he emphasized that the initiative will be approved at the beginning of next year, in parallel with the proposal for new reference prices in all municipalities in the country, except Tirana.
" We will propose to the government that, in addition to the revaluation process, the new reference prices for all municipalities except Tirana be determined, since the reference prices in the other municipalities date from 2016 and do not reflect the current market prices. We propose that both these initiatives, to be launched at the same time for citizens to reassess at the market rate by paying the reduced rate of income tax. The Ministry of Finance has started from the work to determine the new reference prices, we have currently completed the reference price process for the 14 large municipalities and is continuing for the other municipalities. The working group anticipates that within the first quarter we will have closed this process, then we put these two initiatives out for public consultation so that the re-evaluation can then be continued."
In the joint conference with the IMF and the Bank of Albania, the Minister of Finance made an overview of the progress of the economy throughout this year and the budget for the next year.
