Euro increases slightly, but remains below 100 ALL - BSH: During November, 1

The euro continued to recover slightly during the month of November, but remaining below the limit of 100 lek. According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, November started with an exchange of the euro at 98.32 allek and at the end of the month it increased slightly to 98.35 allek, showing a marginal appreciation of the euro against the allek. A gradual decline of the euro is observed in the first half of the month to reach the lowest level on November 14.

Meanwhile, the second half of the month was characterized by a slight upward trend around November 20, until it peaked at the highest value at the end of the month. Specifically, the European currency deepened its decline in mid-November to reach the lowest peak, being exchanged at 98.11 Lek on November 14 and 15. Meanwhile, since Thursday it increased to 98.35 ALL.

If we analyze the average exchange rate since the beginning of the year, we notice that the average exchange value of the euro with the national currency was the lowest in November, only 98 lek, while in terms of other currencies, during the current month 1 dollar was exchanged for 92 ALL and the British pound for 118 ALL. In the last 3 months, the European currency continued to be exchanged at less than 100 ALL.

Throughout this year, fluctuations in the exchange rate have brought great consequences in many sectors of the economy, especially in foreign trade.
