In 3 months, 73 new ATMs were added - BSH: 1.8 million transactions were carried out. But how many lek did the Albanians withdraw?
In our country, there are a total of 1114 ATMs for ordering transfers, withdrawals and depositing money. The figures speak of a 7% increase in ATMs compared to the second quarter. In the July-September period alone, 73 new ATMs were added in Albania.
Referring to official data from the Bank of Albania, about 92% of ATMs serve only for withdrawing money, almost 26% also serve for deposits, while 34% of ATMs also include the function of transfer orders. In other words, in Albania there are about 1028 ATMs for withdrawing money, 379 with the function of deposit, while 288 also have the function of transfer orders.
Regarding the number of transactions carried out at ATMs, the figures show 1.8 million withdrawals and deposits of money by card through ATMs, 1.7 million actions were only for withdrawals, while 89 thousand were deposit transactions. On the other hand, as far as the value of transactions is concerned, the amount withdrawn by Albanians in the month of September was recorded at 31 billion ALL.
From the second quarter to the third, there is a very small increase in ATMs that, in addition to withdrawing money, also offer deposit services and transfer orders. There are still some second-level banks that do not include cash deposits in their ATMs, a service that is highly demanded by citizens, which sometimes forces them to wait in long queues at banks to carry out this transaction. simple.
Increasing the number of ATMs in the country, especially in rural areas, increases the financial inclusion of the population and citizens' access to financial services.
