ERE, energy saving strategy/Measures, following the Assembly's requests to address issues of interest to consumers

The Energy Regulatory Authority will adopt a “Strategy for Raising Awareness on Energy Saving and the Use of Alternative Resources, 2025–2030.” Everything is foreseen on the agenda of the next Board meeting, as this step comes after the Assembly's requests in this regard.
The resolution adopted for this year required that after signing the cooperation agreement with the Energy Efficiency Agency, in addition to addressing important issues, such as: improving the regulatory framework for energy efficiency, increasing awareness of the importance of energy efficiency, etc., ERE should also consider drafting a joint medium-term strategy to address issues of consumer interest regarding the efficient use of energy.
Increasing energy efficiency in relation to total final consumption is also one of the 3 priorities of the energy budget for 2026. This is done through the review of programs for market promotion, for the penetration of advanced technologies and the increase in the use of renewable energies. However, earlier in government documents it was emphasized that, although the state budget has increased its contribution in this area, the lack of financing instruments for the implementation of energy efficiency measures needs to be addressed, suggesting an increase in funding in this direction.
Energy efficiency brings positive effects, not only in economic terms for institutions and families due to energy savings, but also in terms of the environment, as it contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to protecting the natural resources necessary for energy production.
