Around 188 thousand business visits in 9 months Albania increases professional interest, while visits for health reasons decrease

Albania is increasingly being featured in the media as a destination worth visiting, thanks to the significant growth in tourism and the positive image the country has gained in recent years. However, tourism is not the only reason why Albania is attracting an increasing number of visitors. According to arrival statistics, business visits have also seen a strong increase, reflecting the growing interest in the economic and professional opportunities the country offers.
For the first 8 months of the year, around 188 thousand business visits were registered, a figure that indicates a high pace of economic activities. The peak of these arrivals was recorded in May and June, with around 23 thousand and 24 thousand visits respectively. Compared to the same period a year ago, when the number of business visits was around 155 thousand, a significant increase is observed during 2025. Meanwhile, during 2024, the peak of business and professional visits was registered in March, with around 24 thousand arrivals.
Overall, the data signals that Albania is consolidating not only as a tourist destination, but also as an important center for business activities in the region.
On the other hand, data on other reasons for travel show a different picture. Visits for religious purposes, although in lower numbers, have experienced a slight increase. Meanwhile, visits for health reasons have marked a significant decrease month after month, especially compared to 2024.
In conclusion, these trends show that Albania is diversifying the reasons for visiting, gradually becoming a meeting point where tourism, business and social activities come together. The growing interest in the country, in various forms, confirms its development potential and importance on the regional map of movement and investment.
