Kosovo, elderly people receive increased pensions/ Kurti: We increase the budget and redistribute it to those in need

Elderly people in Kosovo have benefited from an increase in basic pensions from 120 to 150 euros since yesterday. The country's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, had previously promised this increase in the minimum pension.
"And today, with the foreseen increase, basic pensions and pensions for people with disabilities have been executed. We are redistributing economic and state budget growth to those who need it most," Kurti said.
Meanwhile, the acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, through a post on the social network Facebook, said that "no government has increased pensions like the Kurti Government."
"The Basic Pension, which we found to be worth 90 euros per month at the beginning of the mandate, is now being processed with an increase of 150 euros per month. So a 60 euro increase within the mandate, or 67%. Similarly, Pensions for Persons with Disabilities, which we found to be worth 75 euros per month, and from today they become 150 euros per month, or a 100% increase within the mandate," he said. He wrote that "We have also increased support for families with children with disabilities, but also the pension for the disabled."
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced the increase at a Government meeting, stating that this is good news for citizens.
