Arrears amount to 105 million euros - 9 months, debts for public investments and court decisions are increasing
The stock of arrears of the central and local government has reached 10.5 billion ALL or about 105 million euros in September 2024, with an increase of about 0.6 billion ALL compared to June 2024.
The official data of the Ministry of Finance show that compared to the end of last year, the increase is recorded at about 2.7 billion ALL.
In the total of this amount, the central government takes 7 billion, while the local government takes 3.5 billion ALL. What is noticeable is that the central government has increased the stock by 1.3 billion ALL, the local government has turned around, reducing the stock by about 0.7 billion ALL compared to June 2024.
As for the category of arrears, the largest weight is occupied by those for public investments, given that throughout this year there was a high number of open construction sites to provide better services to citizens.
Specifically, investment liabilities reach the value of about 5 billion lek, where the highest stock is again registered in the central government.
On the other hand, the stock of liabilities for court decisions for unfair dismissals or business complaints. The central and local governments register a value of about 2.4 billion ALL, from 1.6 billion ALL that was recorded at the end of last year. The central government holds the greatest weight.
The "other" category accounts for nearly ALL 1.4 billion of the total liabilities.
