What is the balance of safety at work? - Over 27 thousand jobs and increase in professional training
During 2024, the “Labor Market” and “Labor Inspection” programs have achieved significant results in terms of improving employment services and workplace safety standards. The “Labor Market” program, with a fund of 2.45 billion lek according to the revised plan, has achieved 96% of its budget.
During this year, 27,497 unemployed job seekers were mediated and employed, significantly exceeding the initial plan. Another important component was the support with unemployment benefits for 3,194 people, while 9,143 individuals were trained in public vocational training centers.
The “Youth Guarantee” program has also had a special impact, benefiting 488 young people, offering them employment, education and vocational training opportunities. In addition, 2,226 job seekers have been employed through employment promotion programs, much more than the number foreseen in the initial plan.
Special attention has also been paid to the development of technological skills, with 844 people currently attending courses in the field of coding, such as Java, Cyber Security and Python, preparing for the contemporary job market.
Meanwhile, the “Inspection at Work” program has carried out 12,124 inspections across the country, with a budget of 228 million lek. The objective of this program has been to improve working conditions and promote a preventive culture for safety and health in the workplace.
Capital investments have also been made, including the purchase of vehicles for the labor inspectorate, with an implementation rate of 81%. This year's results show an increased commitment to improving the labor market and increasing worker safety in Albania, in line with European standards.
