62 MW solar power plant in Kolonjë - Project approved by the government, does not benefit from support measures
The government has approved the construction of a 62 MW photovoltaic power plant in the village of Taç Lartë in the Municipality of Kolonjë. The project will be implemented by the company "Fortis Energy and Construction" and is not subject to a concession or beneficiary of state support measures. This means that it does not have a guarantee of purchasing energy from the state, there are no facilities related to obtaining permits or connecting to the electricity grid.
The decision stipulates that the plant will be built and put into operation within 36 months, while the operating period will be 49 years from the entry into force of the decision. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy and the National Agency of Natural Resources will supervise the project every three months, to verify compliance with the plan and technical standards.
The construction company will annually provide 2% of the energy produced for free to the state, or the equivalent in monetary value. It is also obliged to report on the progress of the works, as well as to respect environmental permits.
This is not the first project to receive approval from the Council of Ministers this year. Public data indicates at least 5 other large power plants that have received approval from the executive, allowing them to proceed with further steps to finalize the projects. The approved plants are mainly expected to be developed in the Fier and Kolonja areas.
