Blockage in Librazhd, Police: Special measures to divert traffic to other axes
The Director of the Department of Public Order and Security, Dhimitraq Ziu, declared this evening that the State Police is on full alert due to the collapse and blockage of the Librazhd-Pogradec axis, which has caused the "paralysis" of road traffic in the southeast of the country.
To the media, Ziu said that the Blues continue to direct drivers to use alternative routes suggested by the Albanian Road Authority and to stop traffic towards the damaged segment.
Also, the Director of the Department of Public Order and Security said that all drivers entering Albania from the southeastern border points are being notified of the situation, as well as being presented with alternative routes they can use.
"It went to the scene, took security measures, stopped the movement of vehicles, contacted the ARA and the entities that carried out the works on this axis, set the norms and rules and diverted the movement of vehicles to different axes according to the orientations from the ARA. We drafted a detailed plan of measures to take special measures for road safety on all axes. The Directorate of Migration and Border Police orients at the border crossing points about the entire situation and the direction of movement on the different axes. The special tasks are to stop movements towards the place where the road axis was damaged, orientation according to the ARA instructions and respect for the Highway Code", - said Dhimitraq Ziu.
