Businesses, how to choose an energy supplier - ERE has licensed 34 companies to provide the service, contract details
As the liberalized energy market will expand with 2,600 businesses connected to the 10 kV voltage, there are currently 34 entities that offer the supply service. With full liberalization, these entities will no longer be supplied by the Supplier of Last Chance and will have to select one of the suppliers, which is on the list of those licensed by the Energy Regulatory Authority.
More specifically, businesses will have to choose one of the supplier companies, with which they will conclude a contract where, among other things, they will set the price at which the energy will be provided.
This is because according to the legislation in force, the supply of electricity to end customers is done at unregulated prices, which is determined on the basis of contracts negotiated between the supplier and the end customer.
The contract, in addition to the conditions defined in the civil legislation, may also contain other conditions depending on the specific character and type of service provided by the supplier, such as the time of connection to the network of the client, the quality levels of the service provided; provisions related to compensation and reimbursement, in case of non-fulfilment of the contracted service quality level, including incorrect and late billing.
Also, the contract must contain the way of notifying the price change and other conditions of electricity supply and the way of handling and resolving disputes, as well as conditions that limit the customer's right or that determine financial charges for change the electricity supplier.
The complete liberalization of the energy market, including household consumers, is a process requested by the Energy Community, due to the advantages it brings in terms of prices for customers.
