Electronic tickets, state-owned companies in transport/ Mema: Tickets, a necessity. Market supervision is needed
In the government program, one of the issues addressed is that of public transportation.
The government aims to implement GPS/AVL electronic tickets, guaranteeing transparent management, real-time monitoring, and reliable service for citizens.
In an interview with Scan, the head of the public transport association, Dashnor Mema, stated that this is an early request from operators and will serve to improve service for citizens.
Meanwhile, regarding the establishment of the state-owned company, Mema states that if there is good cooperation between the parties, it can bring better quality service and solve the problems that public transport currently has.
The government also plans to add a fleet of 100 electric buses, which the transport association says would bring modernization, but should also be accompanied by infrastructural changes, such as dedicated lanes, modern terminals, etc.
