Exports to the US fall - Imports increase by 3 billion lek!
Based on figures published by INSTAT, Albanian exports to the United States of America have decreased in value during 2024, compared to 2023.
Referring to INSTAT statistics on foreign trade, exports to the United States of America are estimated at 7.1 billion lek during this period, down from 9.78 billion lek in 2023.
Meanwhile, imports from the US increased as, according to data, they are estimated at 20.5 billion lek in 2024, up from 17.3 billion lek in 2023.
Albania exports a wide range of products to the United States, mainly food products, medicinal plants, and metals.
Our country is considered an important trader of medicinal plants in the American market, while the growth of exports has also been favored by the removal of customs duties.
Since 2012, Albania has joined the list of 128 countries that can benefit from a preferential system that eliminates customs duties on a long list of products.
