Berlin, Minister Salla: The requirements of chapters 11, 12 and 13 are essential for a modern agriculture
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, is in Berlin (Germany) on an official visit within the framework of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) 2026 where he also participated in the Meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Western Balkans, held within the framework of the Berlin Process and
The meeting was considered an important step towards strengthening regional cooperation and consolidating the path of the Western Balkan countries towards the European Union. “This cooperation format serves to bring the region’s agricultural policies closer to European Union standards and to build long-term sustainability in the agriculture and food sector,” said Minister Salla.
Minister Salla stressed that the meeting takes place at a key moment for Albania, following the opening of Group Chapter 5 in the EU accession negotiations. “Approaching the European Union framework, fulfilling the requirements of Chapters 11, 12 and 13, as well as the gradual orientation towards the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), are essential for building a modern, competitive agricultural sector with European standards,” he underlined.
According to Minister Salla, these processes are in function of implementing the long-term vision of the development of Albanian agriculture. “Agriculture 2030 and Albania 2030 are objectives that require sustainable reforms, regional cooperation and full alignment with European policies,” the minister emphasized.
