ARRSH opens two tenders for the supervision of works in Tirana and Saranda - Preparations begin for the expansion of the Tirana-Durrës superhighway, Phase III
The Albanian Road Authority has recently published two new tenders at the Public Procurement Agency, related to the supervision of works on two important infrastructure projects: the expansion of the Tirana-Durres highway (Phase III) and the construction of the Saranda By-Pass (Phase I).
According to published documents, the tender for “Works Supervision, Expansion of the Tirana-Durres Superhighway, Phase III” has a limit fund of around 21.4 million lek. The objective of the supervisor is to control and monitor the implementation of the works in accordance with the project, technical specifications and established deadlines, as well as to ensure that the process is carried out efficiently and economically.
This segment is expected to have the following technical parameters: width of the paved crown: 32.5 meters, passing lanes: 3 x 3.75 m (on both carriageways), emergency lanes: 1 x 3 m (on both carriageways), paved shoulder (left side): 2 x 0.7 m, shoulder (right side): 2 x 1.3 m, central traffic divider: 1 x 2.6 m
Meanwhile, the second tender, with the object of “Works Supervision, Construction of the Saranda By-Pass, Phase I”, has a limit fund of 17.1 million lek. The new road segment will have a length of 3,115 linear meters, and will be functionally connected to the “Sixth Road”. Furthermore, the route includes the construction of a 730-meter-long tunnel, which will exit on the other side of the hill and will be connected to the existing roads SH8 and “Kardhiq–Delvinë”.
At the beginning of the project, an alternative planimetric solution was also envisaged regarding "Skënderbeu Street", in order to avoid the demolition of existing buildings.
