ARRSH, 11.2 million euros for road maintenance - Contracts for tourist axes are signed, winners for the Korça region are announced
Over 11.2 million euros is the value of the winning bids and contracts concluded for the maintenance of several national roads in the East Korça Central region and the South Gjirokaster region.
The Albanian Road Authority has announced the winning companies for 6 lots in the Korça region, and has signed contracts for 3 other lots in the southern region of the country.
The value of the announced bids for the Korça region amounts to around 9.1 million euros, excluding VAT, and includes several axes such as: the new Korça - Ersekë road, Korça - Voskopoje, Boboshticë - Dardhë, etc.
Meanwhile, the value of the contracts for the southern region is around 2.1 million euros, including VAT, and some of the country's tourist axes are part of the contracts. They include the Kuç - Qeparo road, the Lukovë beach road, the Borsh beach road, Livadh, Jalë, Dhërmi, Palasë, etc.
The maintenance of the country's national roads is divided into 4 regions, while the development of procedures came after the conclusion of the contracts for the performance maintenance service of roads, concluded in 2020. Routine maintenance consists of tasks such as repairing potholes, cleaning drainages, sealing cracks, cutting vegetation, etc. Meanwhile, periodic maintenance consists of more costly measures, in order to prevent road degradation, such as leveling, drainages, backfilling, asphalt-concrete overlays, etc.
