APD: 10-month performance of the Port of Durres, trade volumes increase by 7.2%

The Port of Durres has continued its positive performance trend during the first ten months of 2025, confirming its consolidated role in maritime transport and national logistics.
During the period January-October 2025, over 3.2 million tons of goods were processed at port piers, or 7.28% more compared to the same period in 2024.
In terms of cargo volumes, this translates into 219 thousand tons more goods.
Official data from the Durres Port Authority show that 2,442,518 tons of goods were imported, while 783,478 tons were exported to international ports. The increase in imports, which amounts to 27%, highlights the expansion of domestic demand and the strengthening of Durres' position as a stable logistics and supply center.
The container sector has also seen growth, with data showing that 189,835 TEUs were processed, an increase of 15% compared to January-October 2024, indicating the intensification of containerized goods flows and the supply chain.
Passenger traffic has also seen a moderate increase. In total, 694,310 passengers used the port during January–October 2025, or 11,597 more than a year earlier.
Specifically, 325,507 travelers entered the country, while 368,803 traveled to Italian ports. The flow of travelers results in a 5% increase, confirming the role of the Port of Durres as one of the main tourist gateways of the country.
Also, during January–October 2025, 1,764 merchant ships and vessels were registered, an indicator of the intensity and increasingly high processing capacities.
The Port of Durres continues to remain the most important maritime and logistical hub of Albania, efficiently meeting market demands and ensuring contemporary standards in its operations.
