AIDA presents new investment opportunities at the North Macedonia and Albania economic forum

The “Beyond Borders” economic forum, held on May 12 in Skopje, confirmed the growing interest of investors from North Macedonia towards the Albanian market, at a time when economic relations between the two countries are entering a new phase of regional cooperation. Representatives of institutions and businesses from both countries participated in the forum.
During the “Investment Opportunities: From Potential to Partnership” panel, the Executive Director of the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA), Laura Plaku, presented Albania as a competitive destination for regional investments, highlighting the potential in sectors such as tourism, renewable energy, technology and agribusiness.
According to data presented at the forum, investments from North Macedonia in Albania reached 132 million euros at the end of 2025, the highest level recorded so far. In parallel, 319 companies with Macedonian capital currently operate in Albania, mainly focused on trade, services and industry.
The event was also attended by representatives of institutions and economic organizations of both countries, where discussions focused on the creation of new partnerships, the development of infrastructure corridors and the strengthening of regional economic cooperation. The forum's agenda also included discussions on investments, tourism and Corridor VIII as a strategic project for the economic connection of the region.
This forum aims to serve as a permanent platform for cooperation between the business communities in Albania and North Macedonia.
