Tirana Airport closes 2025 at the top of the region - TIA: Passenger record, 11.6 million in just one year
Tirana International Airport has confirmed its leading position in the region for 2025. According to official statistics published by Airports Council International (ACI), Tirana International Airport handled a total of 11.6 million passengers during 2025. This result represents an increase of 8.7% compared to 2024, reflecting the continued growth in demand for air travel and the development of the tourism sector.
During 2025, Tirana International Airport has served as a key entry point for foreign visitors, but also as an important connecting hub for Albanian travelers to European destinations and beyond.
With a network of 83 destinations, 27 airlines and connections to 25 countries, TIA is offering more choices to Albanian passengers by strengthening Albania’s connections with Europe. TIA remains the leading travel gateway for Albanians and visitors choosing to fly from Tirana.
TIA is also investing in digitization and improving the passenger experience, through electronic gates for faster border controls; advanced security scanners; expanded parking with over 1,900 spaces and a multi-story structure; digital boarding passes, avoiding waiting at counters. These measures have significantly increased efficiency and created an easier and faster experience for passengers.
