Tirana Airport leads the region/ Around 6 million passengers in six months

Tirana International Airport continues to record high results in air traffic, leading the region's airports in terms of passenger numbers during the first half of 2026.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has published on social media data showing that around 6 million passengers passed through Tirana International Airport in the first six months of this year alone. The figure represents a 17% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
The significant increase in the number of passengers confirms the positive trend of air traffic in Albania and the increasingly important role of Tirana as a major connecting point for travelers in the region.
The airport's performance is also related to the increase in tourist flows to Albania, the expansion of air destinations, and the increase in the number of travelers choosing Tirana as a destination or transit point.
The figures for the first half of 2026 thus position Tirana International Airport at one of the highest levels of activity in its history, further strengthening Albania's position on the regional air transport map.
