452.8 million additional lek for the European Political Community Summit -

The Council of Ministers has approved additional funds to cover the costs of organizing the high-level meeting of the European Political Community in Tirana on May 16 of this year.

The Ministry of Interior and the Directorate of Government Services have been added 92.8 million lek in the approved budget for 2025. The 92.8 million lek fund has been divided into two items, the State Police receives 44.1 million lek and the Republic Guard 48.6 million lek.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Government Services is being allocated a fund of 360 million lek. This government decision determines that the financial effect of 452.8 million lek is covered by the reserve fund of the state budget approved for 2025.

The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Interior and the Directorate of Government Services are tasked with implementing this decision, which enters into force immediately and is published in the Official Gazette.

The European Political Community Summit is a high-level forum that is expected to bring together the leaders of European countries to discuss the future of the continent, common challenges and the perspective of the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the European Union.

The summit is considered a success for Albanian diplomacy and a golden opportunity to demonstrate commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and progress towards European integration. Organizing this summit in Tirana not only gives Albania a central role on the European agenda, but also reinforces its position as a reliable partner for stability in the region.
