"230 million euros in subsidies for farmers" - Berisha: We will

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during a meeting with farmers in the Dimal area of Berat, presented the DP-ASHM program for agriculture, stating that the budget for this sector will be increased sevenfold.

"We consider the discrimination that has been made against you over the last 12 years inexcusable. One figure is enough: farmers in the countries of the region receive five times more subsidies than Albanian farmers. This makes your competition in the market impossible. From 338 thousand farmers, the state collects VAT for every action they perform, while in this year's budget only 32 million euros have been left for agriculture - a ridiculous amount, when North Macedonia has allocated 220 million euros for the sector.
What are we going to do? From 32 million, we will increase the subsidy fund for you to 230 million euros."

Berisha also focused on rural pensions and consumer cards for farmers.

“In the first 100 days, no pension in the village will be lower than 200 euros, regardless of whether it is full or partial. The village will have a consumer card, through which VAT will be refunded for a number of products purchased. The
restriction on the subsidy by hectare will be removed – someone who has 10 hectares will be subsidized for all 10 hectares.
We guarantee you very strong support for the village, because its potential for production is extraordinary.

Berisha also spoke about support for collectors, who will benefit from soft loans and other facilities, as well as the reduction in the price of oil.
