180 new textbooks in September for grades I, VI and X - Osmani: 15 thousand teachers trained to implement the new curriculum

The curriculum reform will bring 180 new textbooks to the education system for students in the first, sixth and tenth grades. Deputy Minister of Education, Orjana Osmani, says that the reform will continue with the other grades and will end in 2029.
"In September we start with updated and new textbooks. There are about 180 textbooks for first, sixth and tenth grade students. Every year there will be curricular changes, if this year there will be changes for 3 grades, next year it will be the second, seventh and eleventh grades, until 2029, when the curricular reform ends ," says Osmani.
Regarding this reform, around 15,000 teachers have been trained this year and this will continue.
"We have continued with teacher training. This year we have reached the figure of about 15 thousand trained teachers and this figure will continue to grow until the end of 2026. We have approved the teacher professional development program for 2026-2028 and it is focused on the new curriculum. The professional development of teachers began two years ago. This year we have received the opinions of teachers on what would be best for them to receive training, where we should focus as a ministry and what should be the policies that should be implemented ," says Osmani.
According to Osmani, a key element on which the training is based is increasing teachers' digital skills.
