Taxes and customs duties of 417 million euros are forgiven to businesses - Balance/ Cancellation of obligations, benefiting over 165 thousand entities in the country

The Tax and Customs Administration has so far written off nearly 39 billion lek or 417 million euros in business liabilities, including principal, fines and late payment interest, a process from which a total of 165,520 businesses have benefited.
According to official data from the Ministry of Finance, specifically, the liabilities unconditionally written off by the tax administration are recorded at a value of 29.7 billion lek and the beneficiaries are 121,630 taxpayers.
As for conditional liabilities, which belong to the period 2015-2019, i.e. when 50% of the principal was paid by taxpayers and they benefited from the forgiveness of the remaining part as well as the cancellation of fines and interest, 8.6 billion lek were forgiven or deleted from the system and 43,366 taxpayers were the beneficiaries.
Regarding customs duties of businesses, it turns out that the customs administration has forgiven approximately 505.4 million lek in unconditional duties, a process from which 262 businesses have benefited, and 168.5 million lek in conditional duties have been forgiven, benefiting 260 businesses.
Unconditional liabilities include those older than 10 years, while conditional liabilities include liabilities that are younger than 10 years.
June 30 was the deadline for taxpayers who could benefit from the conditional forgiveness of arrears, by paying only 50% of the principal for tax and customs obligations belonging to the period 2015–2019. While until December 2026 they will have the opportunity to benefit again, but by paying 75% of the principal and will benefit from 25% forgiveness of the obligation, as well as the cancellation of fines and late payment interest.
December 31 is also the deadline for entities to pay 100% of the principal, to benefit from the cancellation of fines and late interest for tax obligations for the period 2020–2024.
Regarding the fiscal peace package, according to the Ministry of Finance, there are a total of 62 applications and 19 agreements concluded. For fiscal peace alone, there are 15 agreements, and for fiscal peace plus revaluation of statements, there are 4 agreements.
