May 16, European Political Community Summit in Tirana - Minister Hasani: France's commitment is essential for the stability of the region
Next month, on May 16, the European Political Community Summit will be held for the first time in Tirana. During his official visit to Albania, the French Minister Delegate for Europe, Benjamin Haddad, met with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, to discuss the organization of this summit.
The European Political Community was established in 2022 and aims to promote political dialogue and cooperation in the interest of Europe as a whole, to increase security, stability and prosperity on the European continent.
Minister Hasani emphasized that France has a key role in supporting and guaranteeing a fair process of Albania's EU membership.
"This is a historic summit, which will be organized in Tirana on May 16, 2025. Albania has the privilege and honor to host this important event, which aims to promote cooperation and dialogue between European states on common challenges, including security and stability. France's key role in the establishment of the European Political Community is extraordinary, and we will do our utmost to advance its objectives during the Tirana summit."
On the other hand, the French Minister stated that an action plan has been agreed upon to increase support for Albania's EU membership.
Albania and France have deepened their cooperation since a year ago with the signing of two cooperation agreements in the fields of economy, culture and innovation.
