Governor Sejko meets the Bloomberg News team - “Trade policies, important implications for the global economy”
The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, held a meeting with the Bloomberg News team. Initially, Governor Sejko introduced Bloomberg representatives to the main economic and financial developments in the country, adding that the prudent and consistent monetary policy pursued by the Bank of Albania has had a positive contribution to these developments.
Regarding the economic outlook, the Governor emphasized that it remains positive, economic growth is expected to remain stable and inflation is expected to return to the 3% target during 2025. This performance will be helped by the stabilization of prices in international markets and a more stable exchange rate performance.
However, continued geopolitical tensions and uncertainty regarding trade and economic policies could have significant implications for the global economy in general and the European economy in particular.
Bloomberg representatives stated that they attach particular importance to economic data and underlined that central banks are irreplaceable contributors to the functioning of modern economies.
