North Macedonia to increase minimum wage in March - additional 2,000 denars to improve living standards

The Ministry of Economy in North Macedonia has announced that the minimum wage will increase by about 2,000 denars (32.5 euros) in March 2026.
According to official sources, this step is part of the government's plan to improve living standards and support lower-income workers. Currently, the minimum wage in the country is around 395 euros.
The ministry emphasized that it is working to harmonize the minimum income with rising inflation and living costs, so that employees can truly feel an improvement in their family budgets.
Meanwhile, the League of Trade Unions of North Macedonia (LSM) remains steadfast in its demand for the minimum wage to reach 500 euros. According to the unions, with the current increase, the salary still remains insufficient to cover basic monthly expenses.
The Ministry of Economy also announced that changes have been made to the Law on Financial Support for Investments.
"With the amendments to the Law on Financial Support for Investments, we are building a clear and transparent framework that promotes economic development, the creation of new jobs and the growth of wages. Our goal is to attract value-added investments that bring technology, innovation and higher productivity. Support will be provided to companies that invest in the processing industry," the statement said.
