Officially, Kosovo has 1,602,515 resident inhabitants - Kurti: Correct data.

The Statistics Agency of Kosovo has published the first final results of the population, household and housing census.

During his speech, the head of the Agency, Avni Kastrati, said that the registration process has reached its goal and the results have come as expected. According to the data, Kosovo officially has 1,602,515 residents.

"Residential buildings have increased by 21.5%, compared to 2011. The number of general dwellings: has increased by 41.3%, while the number of ordinary dwellings has increased by 35%. The gender gap has decreased from 11,975 in 2011 to 5,538 in 2024, which represents a reduction of 53.8%. We are among the top countries with the youngest age group. In education, we have a reduction in the illiteracy rate from 3.85% to 2.27% in 2024, and it is an indicator of Kosovo's considerable progress in the field of education. As for the damage of the war, there are 154,272 affected family economies" in the amount of 5 billion. We have 11,417 human casualties of the war.

Present at the conference, the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, emphasized that this process is very important for Kosovo and that thanks to the technology used, a clear overview of the reality has been made. These results will be used to develop and build the future of the country.

The process of population, household and housing census in Kosovo was also evaluated by international experts.
