Kosovo, President Omani dissolves the Parliament - Proposal: Early elections to

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has dissolved the Parliament. The decision came after a meeting held with the leaders of political parties to overcome the current crisis the country is going through.

The meeting was called after the failure the day before for Glauk Konjufca as the second mandate holder to receive a vote of confidence in the Kosovo Assembly to form a new government, where he managed to receive only 56 votes in favor. Albin Kurti had received the same number of votes on October 26, out of the 61 votes needed.

Kosovo held general parliamentary elections on February 9 of this year, with the Vetevendosje Movement coming in first with 42.3% of the vote, the Democratic Party of Kosovo second with 20.95%, the LDK with 18.27% and the AAK with 7.06% of the vote. However, since the elections until today, the Vetevendosje Movement has failed to secure a majority in the Assembly to form a government.

Political party leaders declared after the meeting with the President of the Republic that they have proposed the dates of December 21 and 28 for holding extraordinary elections.
