Turkey is the leader in Europe for agricultural products - In the last 20 years, Turkish agricultural production has tripled
Turkish President Erdogan has stated that Turkey is a leading country in agricultural production, ranking first in Europe and eighth in the world.
“Since 2002, we have increased our exports from $3.8 billion to $32.6 billion last year,” Erdogan said during a meeting with farmers. According to the Turkish president, his country has tripled agricultural production from $25 billion in 2002 to $74 billion in 2024. “In our country, 206 types of agricultural products are produced. Fortunately, we are self-sufficient in many of them.”
According to him, Turkey ranks fourth in the world in vegetable and fruit production and holds 11th place for plant-based production.
"In raw milk production, we are ninth in the world and third in Europe. In beef production, we are seventh in the world and first in Europe. In egg production, we are tenth in the world, second in Europe. In honey production, we are second in the world and first in Europe. In aquaculture, we are 16th in the world and second in Europe," were some of the figures brought by Erdogan.
