Greeks, "distancing" from technology - Around 70% of citizens do not use "AI" at work
Although the majority of Greek citizens, around eight in ten, have heard of artificial intelligence and its applications, more than three in ten declare that they are not informed at all about this technology.
Of course, these percentages are not a Greek peculiarity, as similar trends are also recorded in the rest of the world. But at the same time, the majority of Greeks (68%) say they have never used technology in their professional lives, an indication that artificial intelligence is being integrated more slowly into the workplace.
According to a Focus Bari survey, which surveyed 21 countries, 83% of Greeks have heard of the new technology, compared to 17% who say otherwise. Meanwhile, worldwide, Switzerland, Mexico and Romania consider themselves “informed” about artificial intelligence, in contrast to countries like Nigeria, where almost half of the population declares they have no knowledge on the subject.
As for Greece, 35% of citizens consider themselves very informed about new technology, 32% hold a neutral position, while more than three in ten have no knowledge at all.
Globally, almost half of people have used artificial intelligence in their daily lives, but only one in three uses it in a professional setting. The new technology has a particularly high penetration in countries such as Kenya (75%), Mexico (63%) and Malaysia (58%), in contrast to Italy and Austria, where 7 in 10 people do not use it in the workplace.
When it comes to Greece, 42% of Greeks admit to using artificial intelligence tools in their personal lives, in contrast to almost 6 in 10 who say the opposite. Worldwide, 52% of people declare that they have not integrated it into their daily lives, with 96% of Spaniards rejecting it.
