Rama, summing up the profits of this tourist season: 1 billion Lek earnings in

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed optimism when talking about the gains the tourism sector has made in the past few months. As he spoke at a conference held in Durrws, accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, and the Minister of Tourism, Mirela Kumbaro, Rama declared that 1 billion lek of income was generated only in the first 6 months of this year.

Actually, this season surprised us in terms of the income it gave to the economy. In only 6 months, we exceeded $1 billion in tourism revenue, almost double the previous year. "The flow of foreign visitors until August was 5,600,000, which is equal to 1.3 million more than last year," he said.

The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, said that this sector contributed 17.5% to the country's GDP this year and increased employment.

"Tourism has grown from a sector that contributed 3 to 5% of the GDP to a sector that contributes 17.5% of the GDP. We have had a 30% increase in traffic in all cities conditioned by this sector. We have had an increase in employment. Businesses and tourism capacity have increased. This shows positive progress. Tourism is a strategic sector. That's why we invested in infrastructure, as in Arbri Road, "she said.

According to the government, they have started working for the 2023 tourist season, and by December, a large part of the necessary conditions will have found a solution in various cities.
