Balluku convenes Civil Emergencies: Weather deterioration expected, measures to

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku called a coordination meeting with the structures of the National Civil Emergencies Agency, based on the latest forecasts that announce that during this week our country will be affected by unstable weather with high intensity rainfall. Part of the meeting were the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, as well as the head of Civil Emergencies, Haki Çako.

Balluku stressed that in the early hours of tomorrow, rainfall is expected to begin, initially in the northern area and then move to the northeastern area. The Deputy Prime Minister announced that measures have been taken by the Electric Power Corporation to manage the entire amount of water expected to come to the homes of the hydroelectric power plants.

"Starting from November 11, the Albanian Electric Power Corporation has begun to lower the levels in the Koman basin and the Vau i Dejës basin, to create free volumes for everything that will come from the side flows of the streams, which is also the most dangerous part in terms of these flows," explained Balluku.

Meanwhile, regarding the Fier and Vlora areas, rainfall is expected to be at a lower intensity, but teams will be engaged on the ground to manage any problems that may arise in these areas.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the situation is dynamic, so all structures will be on full alert and in coordination with each other, in cooperation with the municipalities and prefectures of the country. The structures of the ARA and OSHEE will also be on the ground to intervene wherever problems are reported.

"The situation is dynamic due to the moving fronts of the wind corridors at altitude. For this reason, there must be coordination between the data coming from Civil Aviation, as well as the data coming from the satellites that KESH uses to control the cascade, of course with all the information coming from the EGEUM, or even from the National Civil Protection Agency itself," said Balluku.

Ministers Vengu, Salla, and the head of Civil Emergencies, in their speeches, provided an overview of the measures taken to manage the situation.
