How stressed are Albanians? Work and economic problems among the main concerns
Stress has become one of the biggest problems of modern societies, which can be caused by many factors. However, the level of stress is not the same in all countries, as it is affected by lifestyle, climate and economic situation. Ceo Magazine World has published a report on the stress experienced by citizens in different countries of the world.
According to the data, Albania ranks 84th out of 197 countries surveyed, with an average stress level. The report assesses stress based on four main pillars: work stress, financial stress, social and family stress, and stress related to health issues. For Albanian citizens, the main source of stress is work, followed by stress about money.
Compared to other European countries, Albania experiences more stress, while for the region the level is approximately average. Montenegro and Serbia appear with less stressed citizens, ranking 75th and 78th respectively. Meanwhile, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina ranked lower than Albania, in 89th and 92nd place.
Monaco is ranked as the least stressed country in the world for 2025, achieving an extraordinary result. Its luxurious and peaceful environment, vibrant urban life and strong financial center contribute significantly to this stress-free status, offering a multicultural atmosphere and a high quality of life. Monaco is followed by Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Ireland, all with low stress levels.
At the other end of the spectrum, Burundi has been identified as the most stressed country in the world, followed by South Sudan, Afghanistan, Syria and Malawi. These countries are severely affected by conflict, financial problems and underdevelopment, which directly affects the increasing stress levels of their citizens.
