About 3,500 Albanians ordered to leave the EU/ Eurostat: We rank among the first countries with the highest returns
According to the data of the "European Statistics Agency", about 3,500 Albanians were ordered to leave an EU country, while about 2 thousand people have returned after an order to leave to one of the European Union countries where they were established, referring to the third quarter of the year.
During the third three months of 2024, around 112,000 non-EU nationals were ordered to leave an EU country and 27,740 people returned to third countries following an order to leave.
Compared to the second quarter of 2024, the number of departure orders has remained stable, while the number of returns to third countries has increased by 13%.
Compared to the same quarter in 2023, the number of non-EU nationals ordered to leave increased by 4%, while the number of people returned to third countries increased by 35%.
According to the figures of the "European Statistics Agency", among the citizens who are not part of the EU ordered to leave the territory of an EU country in this period, Algerian citizens had the largest part of the total (10 %), followed by citizens of Morocco and Syria (each with 7%). Among those who returned to third countries, the majority were citizens of Georgia (11%), followed by Albania and Turkey (each with 7%).
According to Eurostat, the largest returns of Albanian citizens in the third quarter of the current year were made by Greece, France, Germany and Italy. Since the beginning of the year, a total of about 6,000 Albanians have returned from an EU country.
