Development and conservation of biodiversity - New management plan for four protected areas
The National Agency for Protected Areas has announced the opening of the tender for the drafting of an integrated management plan for the Kune-Vain-Talë-Patok-Fushëkuqe-Ishëm nature reserve; Qafështamë Nature Park; Llogara National Park; and Divjakë-Karavasta National Park. According to the document published in the Public Procurement Agency, the total limit fund is 37 million and 810 thousand lekë.
Among the factors that pose a risk to the Managed Nature Reserve “Kune – Vain – Patok – Fushë Kuqe – Ishëm” are those mainly related to human activity, where fishing, tourism and livestock farming are the main activities in the area. Threats come from hunting, killing and collecting animals, waste and solid waste management. Referring to the document, the goal is to develop a comprehensive integrated management plan for the Managed Nature Reserve “Kune – Vain – Patok – Fushëkuqe – Ishëm”, for the conservation and protection of biodiversity, covering but not necessarily limited to various physical, social, economic and ecological aspects of the Managed Nature Reserve.
Likewise, the drafting of a management plan is foreseen for the “Qafështamë” Natural Park. Through this project, the aim is to preserve the natural ecosystem, ecological systems and natural characteristics of the area in its natural state. It is expected that the integrated management plan will lead to the sustainable development of the territory where the study area is part, development control, increased well-being of the local population, employment, better living conditions and protection of natural and environmental assets.
In the two national parks, "Llogara" and "Divjakë-Karavasta" National Park, an integrated management plan will be drafted and developed, aiming at the improvement and sustainable use of biodiversity, natural heritage and aesthetic values through intersectoral and inter-institutional cooperation, for the sustainable benefits of the local community and for national and international interest.
Through this project, the aim is to preserve the natural ecosystem of the area in its natural state.
