Unza e Madhe, works 24 hours - Balluku: We stick to the objective to deliver it within the year
The works on lot I of the Great Ring of Tirana are heading towards closure. During the inspection, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku considered this segment of the project as the most complicated, but the difficulties have already been overcome.
"I will say that Lot I, that is, the connection with the Eagle, is the most complicated part that we have had, both because of the surrounding inhabited area, and because of a part of water that is underground in this area, which has wanted some interventions with tombino, etc. Here we also had a connecting node and secondary roads, which were certainly a challenge for the project", said the minister.
Balluku reiterated his commitment to the completion of the Great Ring Road works at the end of this year.
"We stick to the objective of delivering it by the end of this year, that is, until December 31, and from what it seems today, the construction sites are at the peak of work. Some of them are dealing with the final details, some still have volume, but 10 days or a little more are very important at this stage, bearing in mind that we work here 24 hours a day", said Balluku.
The opening of the Great Ring Road is expected to ease heavy traffic in Tirana.
