The Head of the Energy Regulatory Authority, Petrit Ahmeti, does not rule out the possibility of reducing the price of electricity, depending on the financial performance of OSHEE.
During the review of the 2024 Annual Report, in the Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development, he spoke about the sector's performance, especially the reduction of network losses and the addition of new production capacities.
Discussions also focused on the natural gas sector, with a focus on the Vlora TPP and the gasification of Korça.
Usually, the Annual Activity Report of the Energy Regulatory Authority is reviewed within the first 6 months of the year, but this year the deadlines were exceeded, which will also lead to a delay in the adoption of the Resolution for 2025.
However, the committee reviewed the Assembly's proposals, starting from the approval of the energy price for self-producers, to the contribution to the drafting of a medium-term strategy for energy efficiency and consumer protection.
